Question 2
I thought that the second written group assignment that we had to do was very useful. As our group worked together to write the paper I found that we were in turn teaching one another how to better understand the concepts that we needed to relate from the book into the assignment. Even though it did take us a few times meeting together to get it finished, I found that it was a great way to improve not only our understanding of the assignment but I found that it also helped me become a better writer. I think this is because everyone has their own ideas and we are able to discuss among one another to try and find what fit’s the best within the paper. Overall I think that the second written group assignment was very useful not only to better understand the books concepts that we had incorporate within our paper but it was also a fun experience to be able to get together with people from class and get to know them.

i totally agree with you in that working with others was beneficial. it's important to get other people's opinions and views on things because sometimes you don't see the whole concept by yourself. having other people around to express what they believe is helpful also because sometimes there's a hidden meaning or something behind the concept that is hard to read. being able to openly talk about them enables you to grasp what it's all about. i also agree that by working together as a group, you not only strengthen your writing and critical thinking skills, but also your bonds and relationships. good post! =)
ReplyDeleteI understand what you mea about the group work helping to further your understanding of certain concepts or ideas. Like you said, sometime we don’t always see the ‘big picture’ and we need a second, or even third opinion on the matter to further clarify what is actually going on or being said. Since everyone is going to have a different way of approaching a concept than other people in the group, you are able to get a really good broad idea of the concept, which really helps because I think all too often we fall into the trap of narrowing in on one specific part of a concept or idea.
